Keep your eyes open, Petersburg!
National elections are not the grand total of political capital in the US. Petersburg, VA has a few elections of its own coming up! Kyle Dixon and Brittany Flowers are running for Commissioner of The Revenue, Cheryl Wilson for Commonwealth Attorney, Paul Mullin and Bridget Jones both running for city treasurer... I will be attempting to get in touch with all of these candidates and post further information on this page in the very near future!
"No Foolin" Benefit Concert & Activities Event
The "James House" is hosting a charity event on April 1st, April Fools Day, called "No Foolin"; An event dedicated to raising awareness of sexual assault and child abuse, to be hosted by "MD & TH". The James House also promotes awareness of domestic violence at large, and its general impact on the community, and even hosts a 24 hr crisis hotline (804.458.2840). This particular 'No Foolin' Event will include activities and vendors, and will be sponsored by Finns Recycling, Walgreen's, and Liberty Tax Service. Bomb Squad Removes Petersburg Relics...
The military's "bomb squad" removed four of the civil war relics from the museum, claiming that said explosives could still be 'set off', and only leaving those particular devises that have been, by 'official sources' rendered inert.

Rep. A. Donald McEachin, representative of VA's 4th congressional district, is making stops through the tri-city area, as part of a "district work week", established so that local representatives might visit their constituents, and hear their concerns. He stated that he wishes to "...spend copious amounts of time in each portion of the district". McEachin will be at "Demolition Coffee" in Petersburg on Wednesday the 22nd, from 2-3pm.
