The First 100 Days;
Corruption, Chaos, And Catastrophe
Even from before the election itself, Donald Trump beckoned us to "just imagine what we could accomplish in the first 100 days"; Even drawing up what he had loosely referred to as his "Contract With The American Voter". It is upon this cornerstone which media outlets build the incessant obsession with this initial mark of the Trump administration. But, not to obviate the marker that it is, I have decided to briefly review the actions taken, legislation attempted, and points of potential concern until this point.
Donald Trump revealed to whom his loyalties lie within 24 hours of assuming the position of "most powerful man on earth"; Or, within 24 hours of job-related actions taken that is, as his first actions involved taking an immediate vacation (most likely to pray and fast in repentance for telling a blatant lie with his hand on the Bible). On the following Monday, which he refers as his "day 1 in office" he immediately removed funds from international Planned Parenthood organizations (agencies which do much more than simply perform abortions), and halted the federal government from hiring additional workers (this of course, doesn't apply to the military, imperialism is essential to right-wing governments). He followed up with an immediate re-authorization for the construction of a border wall on the southern border. First of all, this executive order did, quite frankly, nothing at all. The authorization was originally signed by Bush, and expanded by Obama. The only element lacking the completion of this despicable display of ignorant isolationism was the funding. Which, reporting now at the 100 day mark, nonetheless remains to be accomplished. An attempt to revisit this damnable rejection of egalitarian coexistence likewise failed, as he attempted to hold hostage the very operation of the federal government for the sake of weaponize this polarizing proposal. It of course failed, and Trump has temporarily suspended the idea "until September".
Directly following Trump's attempts to construct a symbol of acceptance on the southern border, he immediately began showing love to the rest of the world's disparaged populations with comparable levels of empathy and respect; Namely, an executive order that would disallow 7 nations from entering the US, despite the facts revealing that there has not been a single deadly terrorist incident reported from any one of those listed nations since Sept. 11th, 2001. There has in fact, only been a couple of non-deadly terrorist incidents reported, and namely, from only 2 of the nations banned by Trump's executive order. Trump claimed (and continues to claim) that the order was not intended to be a Muslim Ban, despite the fact that his campaign was partially built upon his "calling for a total and complete shutdown of all Muslims entering the US". Following the various selective cultural and ethnic attacks, his presidency took a turn down an irreversible path. He has since deregulated industrial limitations on environmental protections, slashed the budget of the EPA, and authorized the degradation of waterways by allowing corporations to dump pollutants into flowing rivers. His budget plans also included decreasing the amount of funding going toward the State Dept, the governmental organ charged with international negotiations, and resolving tensions, effectively avoiding war, and directing additional funds to the military budget itself. He hacked the smoke detector off of the wall, doused the neighborhood in gasoline, and bought a shiny new firetruck.
Donald Trump has culminated this 100 day period revealing to America his plans to break the campaign promises he made with regard to universal healthcare, and provide some much needed relief to the suffering bourgeois. He has of late battled the Democrats, and the Republicans in Congress over exactly how is the best way to grant the most durable pair of crutches to the man with the strongest legs, in both his healthcare, and tax reform plans, which is precisely why I have tied these 2 issues together. They are issues of capitalism, and disease it perpetuates upon society. To grant the young man with the most money and the best health the best healthcare plan, and take from the elderly their ability to afford it... All the while scowling at the woman's right to legally have certain forms of healthcare at all. His tax "reform" plan likewise epitomizes unbridled capitalism and "trickle-down economics". (Read my article here why his plan is actually worse than trickle down economics!)
In short (and I have certainly left out a few "minor atrocities" in the name of brevity), Donald Trump has expressed explicit dedication to capitalism and the ruling elite, imperialism (even attempting to start wars that haven't been started yet - example 1, and example 2), and set the course down an irreversible path of environmental degradation, all the while flinging feces of cultural disrespect from the pit of constant scandal.
