Calling All Progressives....
Meet Jim Keady
Jim Keady is the director of "Educating For Justice"; He has likewise been an activist for social justice movements for 20 years. As an activist Keady has visited Indonesia, and worked for 6 months in an Indonesian sweat shop, where he claims he lost 25 pounds working in conditions he says are inhumane, where products for the infamous "Nike" corporation are manufactured by sweatshop labor well beneath minimum wage, and in conditions inexplicable within the framework of economic morality. He has been an outspoken critic of the governments lack of motivation to assist victims of hurricane Sandy. As an Asbury Park councilman, he was infamously commanded to "sit down and shup" by Gov. Chris Christy, who told him to roll up his sleeves, and "do something for the people of the state". As it turns out, Keady is doing just that. Jim Keady has decided to run to represent the people of NJ's "fighting fourth" district, and has labeled himself a "brass knuckles progressive brawler" for the people in a recent interview with the Jimmy Dore Show (video below), and is on the war path for progressive change. In the interview with Jimmy Dore (progressive talk show host and comedian), Keady states that he is for a minimum wage of $15/hr, tuition-free college (for public colleges), with a strong focus on the reversal of climate change, and a "2nd American Industrial Revolution" of well-paying jobs in renewable energy.
"I don’t think nearly enough politicians down in Washington, DC truly appreciate or understand these things the way you or I do, let alone have pride in them."
