Meet Sema Hernandez...
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, conservative Republican, opponent of net neutrality, and advocate of unbridled capitalism, is being challenged by the leftist progressive Irasema (a.k.a. "Sema") Hernandez, who has called out the Republican and Democratic party failures in national politics and local to her area in the wake of the storms of hurricanes Harvey and Irma, and the economic storms of "the working poor" who continue to subsidize the costs of the local bourgeois exploiting the working class and suffer the main body of pain from exploitative policies which do nothing more than exacerbate the economic inequality present in the communities who suffer the most.

Sema is running within the Democratic Party, challenging establishment candidate Beto O'Rourke. O'Rourke is a business man who, after college, co-founded "Stanton Street Technology", an "internet services and software company" according to Wikipedia. O'Rourke, who falsely claimed in March to be "one of 2 members of Congress out of 535 that takes no corporate cash...", has received $54,000 from banks, almost $60,000 from real estate, and $13,520 in the 2018 election cycle alone from Time Warner, according to "Open Secrets".
Sema Hernandez on the other hand, is funding her campaign with individual small donations averaging just over $30 per contribution, having raised $5000 from 160 donors with the goal of $7,500.
